Post-Depression times, the Ann Arbor, Michigan radio company strove to manufacture a camera that many could own. Nicknamed the “Brick” & selling 2.2 million in number over a 30 year span, the Argus camera became so popular, it is now known as America’s most popular camera. The 1950’s brought the Matchmatic design as sold here with it’s classic two-tone black and tan leather face. With it’s sleek appearance, it became a favorite prop in many of Hollywood’s classic movies. Most notable, the Argus C3 Matchmatic is seen in the hands of Colin Creevey in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
